Public Land Survey System: Thomas Jefferson’s Second Best Idea
Presented by Scott Malm, Gust Rosenfeld
In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, we will look at the Public Land Survey System created by Thomas Jefferson in the late 1700s and its impact on western expansion, including Arizona. This will be more than just a history lesson as Scott will also explain explore how to understand and read legal descriptions that are still based on Jefferson’s system.
